How do I find and repair air leaks.
If you are losing air pressure, and it isn't colder temperatures, check the boat over for leaks, starting with the valves. The best tool to find leaks is soapy water in a spray bottle. A leaking valve is rare, but if you do find a leak we can send you a replacement valve. We recommend mixing soap and water in a spray bottle. Spray around the valve. If you see bubbles forming, check your valve seating and base and be sure the valve insert is screwed tight. You can apply glue from the repair kit to seal small leaks around the valve or hole where the nylon string enters the valve assembly. If you continue to have problems with the valve it's probably time to order a new valve.

If the boat is losing air, and all the valves are good you probably have a small puncture. Small punctures can be repaired easily and permanently. Spray around inside and outside of the hull until air bubbles mark the position of the leak. If you have no luck finding a slow leak with air bubbles, inflate the boat to maximum air pressure and try to listen to find the leak. If you can narrow the area down, return with a spray bottle to identify the source of the leak.

Punctures less than 1/8" in size can be repaired simply without a patch. Deflate your boat, then clean and dry area to be repaired. Apply a small drop of glue to cover the puncture, and let dry 12 hours. If you need to get on the water sooner, let dry 30 minutes and then inflate the boat, inflating the compartment with the repair only 3/4 full. This repair might not be permanent so add a drop again at a late date to make it permanent.

Your inflatable boat comes with a repair kit as standard equipment. It is recommended to do repairs in a dry weather. Humidity will decrease glue bond. Cut a piece of repair material large enough to overlap the damaged area by approximately 1/2", and round off the edges. Apply glue to the under side of patch and around the area to be repaired. Too much glue will interfere with a proper repair. Allow adhesive to become tacky for 2-4 minutes, and then place patch on the damaged area. Use a weight to apply 3-5 lbs. of pressure for 12 hours. After patch has dried, apply glue around the edges for a complete seal (dry 4 hours).

How to assemble the plywood floor
Please view Floor Assembly document here if you have difficulties in installing the plywood floor into your inflatable boat.

What documents are needed to register my boat?
You will need the Manufacturer Statement of Origin (MCO) and Bill Of Sale. MCO and Bill of Sale are enclosed in a pouch attached to the shipping box along with an Aquastar Warranty Registration card. If any of documents are missing from the pouch, please visit the forms page for replacements. Please fill out all necessary information: purchase price, your name, address and date of purchase. Don't forget to enter correct HIN number. Don't bring blank forms to Tag agency. Fill it out first.

How Aquastar boats are different from other brands?
Aquastar Inflatable boats are made of the same quality materials as famous inflatable boats. Aquastar Boats were designed in Europe. Aquastar boats are made by a major manufacturer of inflatable boats in Korea. The major difference between Aquastar and other boats is that, other inflatable boats are hand-glued together! Aquastar Boats are welded with the cutting edge PVC welding technology. This is how we are able to provide you with a 5 year warranty on seams and fabric. This is very unique and rarely is used by other manufacturers because welding is a costly proccess, but Aquastar cares about you first! Your satisfaction is their number one priority!

What type of outboard motor can be installed on Aquastar inflatable boats?
Short shaft outboard motors can be installed on Aquastar boats.

Is Aquastar boats registered with the US Coast Guard?
US Coast Guard assigned Manufacturer Identification Code (MIC) on May 6, 2003. Assigned MIC code: DSI. Please use this code when registering boat with local state authorities to identify manufacturer of the boat.

Air starts escaping from the valve immediately after I remove air pump. My boat starts loosing air after few hours. What is wrong?

Valves have a special pushpin inside. This pushpin has two positions. Up and down positions. When it is in the pressed down position air will escape. If you turn the pushpin in any direction it will pop up. This will lock air inside and prevent it from escaping thru the valve. Before inserting air pump tube into the valve, please make sure that pushpin is in upper, pop up position. Then insert air pump tube into the valve and inflate boat until it becomes hard to the prescribed pressure rating. Then once you remove the air pump, air will seal the valve and will not escape. If you would like to deflate the boat later, press down the pushpin and turn it any direction until it stays in pressed down position. Air will immediately escape from the tubes thru the valve.

What are the steps to correctly assemble the inflatable boat?
These are the steps you should follow to correctly assemble the boat:

1. Inflate all tubes approximately 75% full.
2. Place deflated air floor inside the boat. Grey plywood board should be facing the keel. Make sure that valve of the keel is accessible through the hole in air floor. You will need it later to inflate keel through this hole.
3. Place both ends of plywood board under left and right side tubes.
4. Stretch air floor along boat bottom so it will cover it from nose to transom. Rear end of the air floor should be touching transom.
5. Inflate air floor until it hard. You will know that floor is fully inflated when air pressure will start to push air pump handle up.
6 . Insert boat seat in designated spots.
7. Inflate all tubes 100% until hard to touch.
8. Inflate keel through the hole in air floor.

What are the maximum and recommended air pressures of the Aquastar in terms of PSI?
Tubes maximum pressure: 0.25 bar or 3.6 psi
Tubes recommended pressure: 0.20 bar or 2.9 psi

Keel maximum pressure: 0.40 bar or 5.8 psi
Keel recommended pressure: 0.30 bar or 4.3 psi

Air deck floor maximum pressure: 0.70 bar or 10.0 psi
Air deck floor recommended pressure: 0.60 bar or 8.7 psi

• Conversion factors:
• 1 psi = 0.06895 bar
• 1 bar = 14.50326 psi

Due to the high air pressure inside high air pressure inflatable boats, the sides and floor of the boat are generally fairly solid. You’ll have a tough time indeed pressing in any of the boats sides with your thumb. These types of inflatable boats are so solid, in that an average-sized person can usually sit on the sides of the boat without “sinking” down into the boat at all.

Where can I get an extra seat for my boat?
Please go to our seats page to order extra seat for JS-310 or JS-340 boats.

Where do I get the Bill of Sale and Manufacturer Certificate Of Origin in order to register my boat?
If forms are missing from the shipping pouch or if you need replacement documents, you can download the necessary paperwork by clicking on the forms link.

What kind of valve does this boat have?
Aquastar boats have a flat type industry standard Halkey-Roberts valve. The same valve as many other boats on the market..
