How to measure shaft length and overall motor height.

As you can tell from the diagram above, the "shaft length" is from the top of the mounting clamp bracket (that usually sits on top of the boat transom) to the bottom of the cavitation plate. THE "SHAFT LENGTH" IS NOT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE POWERHEAD ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SKEG, THAT MEASUREMENT IS USELESS! In most cases, the "shaft length" measurement should equal the aft transom height of your boat (give or take an inch), but if they do not, the motor "shaft length measurement" is the one we need for a cover quote. If in doubt, supply us with "shaft length" and "overall motor height" measurements.
